Red Buck and Borrowed Blue at DTWC!

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series announced today that RED BUCK CIGARS racing will be the title sponsor for this year's DIRT TRACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP to be held October 19/20 at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH. The event will also be tape-delayed on SPEED Channel to be viewed in October. Also, whats exciting is the country band BORROWED BLUE will be performing at this year's race. They performed at the NORTH/SOUTH 100 in August, they're an upbeat country band with ties to the Lake Cumberland (KY) Area and Region. It's worth going just to hear the band, I've heard them several times now and they get better each time I hear them!

I hope everyone can make it to the DTWC this year, with all thats happening, Carl Short keeps making this race better and better each year and teaming up with Tim and Donna at Portsmouth I know it will be great.

I hope everyone's having a great week, check back with you all soon.

(8th Iron-Man Classic Oct 12/13--$3,000 on Friday & $5,000 on Saturday at Lake Cumberland, KY)

Looking back at Cleveland and now to SMOKY MTN!

Last week's Southern All Stars event at Cleveland, TN went well, track was in great shape, always enjoy going there, good day and evening for racing, we ended up with 22 cars and Billy Ogle Jr. went back to back, holding off a hard fight by Ray Cook in the closing laps. Some controversy over Qualifying times but we did have it correct on the lineup when all was said and done, thats the main thing. Transponders aggravate me sometimes but all and all they do help.

Billy Ogle Jr. has been strong as we head back to his home turn this weekend and Smoky Mtn Speedway, Billy has won four straight (SRRS August 11th, SAS August 18th, LUCAS OIL August 24th and SAS on Sept 15th)...keep up the good work BLOUNT MOTORSPORTS.

*CALL OUT* My call out of the week goes to Dustin Linville who drove to victory lane twice last weekend with a $1,200 win at Ponderosa, KY on Friday and a win on Saturday Night during the HALL OF FAME Classic at Brownstown, IN.

*This week's prediction is that we have a different winner at SMOKY MTN for the SAS race this Saturday Night, several drivers who are due a win at SMOKY MTN (Mark Vineyard, Brett Miller just to name a few)...

Thursday, September 13, 2012

*Well Eastern Kentucky racing just got back on it's feet today as Jarrod Breeding, a native of Isom, KY purchased the 29 year old track of 201 Speedway located in Sitka, KY from Chuckie May for $400,000. Was nice visiting the track over the years, have seen some awesome racing there and I know the Breedings and new Promoter Tony Sturgill will work hard to promote the track week end and week out!

*Keep in mind the 8th Annual IRON-MAN CLASSIC will return for 2012, this season to be ran as a two day weekend special at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY paying $3,000 on Friday Night Oct 12th and $5,000 on Saturday Night Oct 13th for the SUPER LATE MODELS plus supporting divisions.

*Lake Cumberland Speedway is also having a $3,000 to win event for the Super Late Models this Saturday Night September 15th.

This Weekend

This Saturday Night September 15th the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series will be back in action for a 40-lap $3,500 to win event at the Cleveland (TN) Speedway, the annual Grant Adcox Memorial!
